Fodder beet

Elsoms supplies a proven range of fodder beet seed varieties developed in partnership with Florimond Desprez and trialled extensively across Lincolnshire and Northern France. Each variety is selected for high root yield, appropriate dry matter content, reliable establishment and strong field performance suited to growing conditions.

Fodder beet is regarded by many farmers as the highest-yielding forage crop available for livestock systems. Its high energy content, palatability and long harvesting window make it a valuable component of winter feeding programmes for cattle, sheep and other ruminants. Varieties range in dry matter content from low to high, allowing farmers to match fodder beet type to their livestock class and feeding system.
